Season 1
Episode 4 Nature’s Course
Directed by Luke Scott, Written by Aaron Guzikowski
Episode Summary
Determined to prove his utility to their family unit, Father tries to teach the children how to hunt some of Kepler-22b’s creatures for food; a prophecy appears to come true for the Mithraic, triggering a conflict between Marcus and Ambrose.
- Mother saves Paul when he falls into one of the holes trying to save Mouse, revealing her penchant for sleep hypnotism.
- The Mithraics discover a gyroelongated pentagonal pyramid in the desert which emits heat, their assumption is that it is fulfilling the prophecy of Sol.
- Their encounter is similar to the encounter with the Black Monolith in 2001 a Space Odyssey.
- The earwig emits a deafening sound similar to that of the Black Monolith found on the Moon.
- Nude look Themoptic suit from Ghost in the Shell
- Do androids dream? Shaw’s dream in hypersleep and Mother steps into the sim
- Holloway is set alight by Vickers in Prometheus (2012) and in Raised by Wolves Abrose is set alight by Marcus/Pyramid
Episode 5 Infected Memory

Episode Summary
Under Marcus’ command, the Mithraic set out to rescue the children; Campion and Paul bond during a hunting expedition with Father; Mother attempts to learn more about her origins; Tempest’s trauma continues to haunt her.
- The Mithraics forgo the line of succession to follow Marcus as their new leader.
- Mother meets her maker Campion in the Sim
- Mother’s internals are very similar to that of Walter in Alien: Covenant’s Meet Walter Commercial.
- Stained glass shows some interesting symbolism, one of the symbols seems to be a serpent wrapped around an egg. And another symbol graffiti looks like an @
- The kiss of death and kiss of life
- There is something in the desert
- Following a signal
- Cards found in the citadel
- Star Map etched into the skull of the serpent, in Prometheus (2012) Shaw and Holloway discover star maps across the world, David 8 also discovers a star map(Orrery)
- Marcus hallucinates stabbing Sue and being imprisoned in the helmet which Ottho wears
- Father teaches the children to hunt
Ridley Scott weirdly made a point to talk about how much he loved the Raised By Wolves advertising campaign and how it “deftly positioned” his series as a “must watch” show. He also, thankfully, added that Raised By Wolves writer/creator Aaron Guzikowski has already “begun to shape” the second season, so he did at least have something interesting to offer.

Father’s ‘Dad’ jokes
You can stream the first episode of Raised by Wolves, unfortunately for Aussies we can’t access it. But Foxtel is doing a 10 day free trial, which I think is worth getting to watch the episodes released so far which is up to 7!
